[Cause] When transferring via SMB of [Scan to PC], you do not
have the access privilege to the SMB server.
[Remedy] Make modification so that a file or a folder can be read and
written at the save location.

[Cause] During the transfer via SMB of [Scan to PC], unable to
resolve the host name or the server name of the SMB
server when accessing the DNS.
[Remedy] Check the connection to the DNS. Check if the forwarding
destination SMB server name is registered on the DNS.

[Cause] During the transfer via SMB of [Scan to PC], the DNS
server was not configured when accessing the DNS.
[Remedy] Configure the DNS server address. Or specify the
forwarding destination SMB server address using IP
address.

[Cause] During the transfer via SMB of [Scan to PC], the SMB
server cannot be found.
[Remedy] Take one of the following actions, and try again:

Check if the forwarding destination SMB server and the
machine are set up properly for the network
communications. To do that, take the following actions:
- Check the network cables are plugged in securely.
- Check the TCP/IP settings
- Check communications of port 137 (UDP), port 138
(UDP), port 139 (TCP).
z
Check if the computer is running as an SMB server
correctly. To do that, take the following actions:
- Check if the file sharing service for the Microsoft
Network is activated.
- Check if the NetBIOS over TCP/IP for the TCP/IP
settings is activated.
- Check if the file sharing service (using
communication through port 137 (UDP), port 138
(UDP), and port 139 (TCP) are authorized for the
Firewall settings.

For communications which exceed the subnet, check the
WINS server settings, and check if the server name
address is resolved correctly.
z
Check if the NetBIOS interface device is activated on the
forwarding destination SMB server. To do that, take the
following actions for Windows NT 4.0 Server/
Workstation.
1. Select [Start] > [Settings] > [Control Panel].
2. Display [Services], then select [Messenger] service.
3. Select [Startup] > [Auto] > [OK], then select [Close].
4. Select [Devices] in the [Control Panel], then select
[NetBIOS Interface].
5. Select [Startup] > [Auto] or [Manual] > [OK], then select
[Close].
6. Reboot the computer.

[Cause] During the transfer via SMB of [Scan to PC], the specified
password is incorrect.
[Remedy] Confirm the password for the shared folder.
