ATTENTION!

After bleeding at low or high operating pressure imperatively reset the pressure reducer to an operating 
pressure of 2 bars.

Low-pressure leakage test

It is also possible to perform a low-pressure test on hydraulic braking systems using the FÖRCH brake 
bleeding device BEG. The device remains connected to the compensation tank via a bleeding nozzle. At this
please make sure that all vent bolts are tightened. The operating pressure of the device is applied on the 
braking system (2 bars). By loosening the handwheel of the pressure reducer the pressure reducer is closed.
The operating pressure indicated on the manometer must not be reduced within 5 minutes. If the operating
pressure is reduced within the test time the brake system is leaking.

When is it is necessary to refill the device?

The device automatically switches off the motor and the pump if the remaining quantity falls below about 0.3 l
of brake fluid. This way it is guaranteed that it does not suck in air and pumps this air into the braking system.
For additional control, a red control lamp is illuminated. Then it is necessary to replace the empty brake fluid
container by a full brake fluid container. If possible, the device should be switched off when replacing the
tank. Please observe item 1 through 4 in the paragraph "Commissioning".

Suggestions and hints

Please find below a few practical suggestions and hints for efficient bleeding of a hydraulic braking or clutch
systems.
* Start bleeding or changing the brake fluid after connecting the FÖRCH brake bleeding device to the 

compensation tank by means of an adapter.

* Perform the bleeding process according to the indications of the vehicle manufacturer.
* We recommend you to use our collecting bottle (already included in the scope of delivery) in order to have 

a better control of the brake fluid pouring out (cleanliness) and to exactly determine the used brake fluid.

* It is advantageous to open all vent bolts if the brake system is completely refilled. The brake fluid pushes the 

air. Since the vent bolts are open, the air takes the line of the least resistance and immediately escapes 
without counter-pressure and without having the possibility to mix up with the brake fluid. As soon as clear, 
clean brake fluid starts escaping from the vent bolts the vent bolt is manually turned wheel by wheel. As 
soon as the working process is terminated the vent bolt is firmly tightened.

* We recommend slowly and completely actuating the brake or clutching pedal several times during the 

bleeding and brake fluid change process in order to guarantee that the new brake fluid also flows through 
the annulus collector between the primary and secondary sleeves and that possibly remaining bubbles in the
cylinder are released.

* For brake systems equipped with fixed callipers a high amount of liquid rinsing agent is required for 

changing the brake fluid in order to guarantee that a corresponding change of brake fluid also takes place in
not directly flown through housing cover parts of the fixed callipers. At this, imperatively make sure that 
several bleeding valves are available on fixed callipers. Bleed all bleeding valves one after another.  

* For vehicles equipped with a load-dependent braking force compensator it might be possible that the 

hydraulic passage to the wheel brakes connected to the controller are blocked if the axes are relieved 
(vehicle is on a two-column lifting platform). The axes should be loaded in order to guarantee perfect 
bleeding resp. perfect changing of brake fluid. Observe the data of the corresponding vehicle manufacturer. 

* The clutch bleeding connection 67 is recommended for bleeding and filling of hydraulic clutch systems. This 

hose is plugged and sealed to the vent valve by means of a lever plug connection. First the used brake fluid 
is sucked off the compensation tank. Then the bleeding resp. filling is performed from bottom to top.

Other adapters are available for all vehicles!

Please note

If it reveals after bleeding or changing the brake fluid that the pedal travel of the brake or clutch pedal is too
long or that the pressure built-up is too "weak" it is necessary to perform the bleeding application once again
after several forceful actuations of the brake or clutch system.

Setting the correct operating pressure

The pressure reducer is preset to an operating pressure of 2 bars at the factory. In this way, it is guaranteed
that the compensation tank is not deformed during the bleeding or brake fluid change via the compensation
tank and that no leakages occur on the secondary sleeve. Bleeding resp. changing the brake fluid at a low
