10.7 Brake system maintenance
DANGER
Risk of injury as a result of irregular
maintenance of the brake system!
Irregular maintenance of the brake system
reduces the braking performance and may
cause bodily injury.
Ensure that the brake system under-
goes regular checks by a specialist
workshop.
Ensure that repair and adjustment work
is only carried out by authorised spe-
cialist workshops.
Ensure that worn or damaged brake
hoses are replaced immediately.
Ensure that irregularities or functional
faults of the brake system are rectified
immediately.
10.7.1 Checking the thickness of the
brake pads

Measure the thickness a of both brake
pads.
If a ≤ 5 mm, ensure the brake pads are
replaced by your specialist workshop.
Compare the thicknesses of both brake
pads.
If the values do not match, ensure the
brake system is checked by your spe-
cialist workshop.
10.7.2 Tightening brake cylinders
WARNING
Risk of injury as a result of the ma-
chine lowering or rolling away
If the machine lowers or rolls away, any-
one standing near it may be put at risk.
Use support elements to secure the
machine against lowering and rolling
away.
Brake cylinder
The brake must be readjusted if the stroke
of the brake cylinder (1) exceeds 35 mm
during full braking.
Jack up the axle.
Release the brake actuation by releas-
ing the parking brake.
Tighten the hex bolt (2) on the brake
linkage (3) until the wheel is locked.
Turn the hex bolt the other way again
until the wheel can turn freely.
The no-load stroke of the brake cylinder
should be approx. 15 mm.
