7.7.5 Adjusting the swath formation
WARNING
Risk of injury from moving machine
parts
Unwanted movement of the machine may
occur in the course of adjustment work.
Unless otherwise prescribed in this Oper-
ator's Manual, proceed as follows:
Apply the tractor parking brake.
Switch off the tractor engine.
Remove the ignition key.
Secure the machine and tractor against
rolling away.
Adjust the swath formation by moving the
rod on the rotor chassis.
This adjusts the swath formation time to
suit the forage type.
Front rotor
Rear rotor
Remove the linch pin (1).
Pull the rod (2) out.
Move the rod to the appropriate posi-
tion.
Position Time
A
Standard position,
suitable for all forage types
+
Tines are lifted earlier,
suitable for long, heavy forage
-
Tines are lifted later,
suitable for short, wet forage
Secure the setting using a linch pin.
7.7.6 Adjusting the lateral inclina-
tion
WARNING
Risk of injury from moving machine
parts
Unwanted movement of the machine may
occur in the course of adjustment work.
Unless otherwise prescribed in this Oper-
ator's Manual, proceed as follows:
Apply the tractor parking brake.
Switch off the tractor engine.
Remove the ignition key.
Secure the machine and tractor against
rolling away.
Adjust the lateral inclination using the rotor
wheels. Changing the angle of the axle in
relation to the wheel alters the inclination of
the rotor and thus the tines.
The adjustment of the lateral inclination
compensates for the retreat of the tines
(caused by the forage pressure) before the
output time.
For clean crop pickup, the lateral inclination
must be set precisely.
