C.4.3.b. Switching the marker arms to working position; 

 

The marker arms are brought to upright position after 
the work in order to prevent the marker arm to extend 
and cause accident during transportation. Before the 
work, the lock is released and it is switched to working 
position. To switch the locked marker arm to working 
position: 

 

Note: 

Switch the marker discs to travelling position 

before the procedure. 

 

1. Step: 

Remove the spring catch on the marker 

block. 

 

2. Step: 

Release the marker arm by unlocking 

the lock bolt. 

 

Since the marker arm makes the downward movement 
with the pressure of the spring, it exerts a higher 
pressure on the lock bolt than its own weight when in the 
travelling position. Therefore, release the bolt by pushing 
the marker arm towards the machine center before 
opening in order to release the lock bolt. Released lock 
bolt will be removed from its slot freely. 

 
 

 

 
 

CAUTION: 

Crash Hazard! 

Lock bolt is the last safety element holding the 
marker arm in lifted position. The arm will be lowered 
when it is removed. Thus, before removing the lock 
bolt, ensure that you hold the market arm tightly 
enough with your other hand. Ensure that nobody 
including you stands on the lowering route of the 
marker arm during the procedure.  

 

Take the necessary measures in surroundings since 
the market arm can extend more than the foreseen 
distance. Crashing of the arm to personnel during 
lowering includes severe injury risk.
