A special feature contained within preset edit is a powerful one. It allows you to record a synchronized MIDI sequence
with an audio file connected to the preset. While it does not need to have an audio file attached, in most cases the
purpose would be to sync MIDI activities with some audio backing track or IEM mix associated with the preset.
If you choose to record, or re-‐record a midi sequence, then select MIDI CREATE as the MIDI TRACK TYPE. Pressing
[SELECT]
from this type will move you into record mode.
Creating a synchronized MIDI sequence
If you press
[SELECT]
upon selecting MIDI CREATE as the type, you will be moved into a special record mode.
You will see a screen as follows:
At this point, get ready to perform your sequence. When you press
[SELECT]
again, it will start the audio file and
begin recording incoming MIDI events. You should have your MIDI equipment connected to the MIDI in
connector on the Liquid Tracks so that the appropriate data is captured during the record process.
If you need to cancel the operation, just press the
[UP]
button. If you are ready, press
[SELECT]
. The screen will
change to something similar to below:
