Audio and MIDI File Format(s) and Suggestions
It is suggested that high quality MP3 files are used. While many formats are supported, the higher the encoding bit rate
the better. See the supported formats at the end of the user guide. MP3 formatted audio files support ID3 TAGS which
are used by the Liquid Tracks to better determine file names, types, and formats It is highly recommended that these
tags be properly updated.
MIDI file TYPE-‐0 formatted files are the only supported MIDI format. Any and all MIDI files created by the Liquid Tracks
will automatically create TYPE-‐0 files. TYPE-‐0 files will typically work with any and all midi software and sequencers
on the market. Liquid Tracks will reject TYPE1 and TYPE2 midi files upon playback request. If the system is not
processing your midi files as you expect, make sure that they are TYPE-‐0 files. There are free utilities on the Internet
that will convert TYPE1 and TYPE2 midi files to TYPE-‐0. While MIDI playback on the Liquid Tracks was not intended
for full MIDI performance data playback, most files should play without problem. MIDI files designed to provide MTC
(clock data) should not be used for master timing purposes. MIDI files have a 64k data size limit on the Liquid Tracks.
Please refer to the chart at the end of this User Guide for specifications of compatible Audio files.
SPECIAL NOTE: Highly recommended that you remove images from the ID3 header of MP3 files. While they will
work flawlessly, they add unnecessary latency in the startup of the file. Backing Tracks should not have images,
and should have no starting GAP (non-‐removed silence or lead-‐in) in the beginning of the file if possible.
Care and Cleaning
Do not use solvents to clean the front or back panel of the unit. A lightly damp (water only) cloth can be used. A soft
cloth is recommended, as the LCD screen will scratch if rubbed with an abrasive material. DO NOT use liquids around
the unit and do not pour water, solvents or any other type of liquids on the unit. Yes, it is a “Liquid” Tracks-‐ but it is not
tolerant of Liquids! Go figure.
Installing Add-‐On Modules
Instructions will be included for the specific add-‐on module you purchased. In general it will guide you to unscrew 10
screws from the top panel of the Liquid Tracks and carefully remove the lid. REMOVE the electrical power from the
Liquid Tracks prior to unscrewing the lid. DO NOT touch the electronic components inside the case when the lid is
removed. Follow the instructions without modification. Prior to touching any of the components inside the Liquid
Tracks, make sure to touch the inside of the enclosure by grasping the metal inside with both your hands prior to
installing your module. This will help discharge any static electricity you may have on you at the time. Installing an add-‐
