11.2 Replacing the Battery Board

After battery board and parts have been replaced (motors, reduction gear units, brakes,
timing belts, ball screw spline unit, etc.), the Manipulator cannot operate properly because
a mismatch exists between the origin stored in each motor and its corresponding origin
stored in the Controller.
After replacing the parts, it is necessary to match these origins.
The process of aligning the two origins is called “Calibration”.

to perform the calibration.

Battery board
Removal

(1) Turn OFF the Controller.
(2) Remove the connector plate and base cover.

For details, refer to

3.3 Connector Plate

and

3.4 Base Cover

(3) Disconnect the following connectors from the

battery board.

(4) Loosen the screws securing the battery board and

remove the battery board.

(5) Cut the wire tie securing the battery and remove

the battery.

Installation

(1) Mount the new battery board and secure it with

screws.

(2) Connect the following connectors to the battery

board.

(3) Mount the battery to Arm #1 cable plate and

secure it.

(4) Mount the base cover and connector plate.
