2.4 Sensor connection
The Silometer FMC 672 Z/677 Z can be operated with a variety of sensor types, each
requiring an electronic insert:
•
EC 37 Z or EC 47 Z for capacitance and impedance probes
Sensor cable Use commercial 2-core installation cable, max. line resistance 25
Ω
/core, for the sensor/
transmitter cable. If electromagnetic interference is to be expected, we recommend
•
that the PFM negative line be grounded at the sensor (check Ex-regulations)
•
for heavy interference that shielded cable be used, grounded at both ends.
EC 37 Z and EC 47 Z The electronic inserts EC 37 Z and EC 47 Z have two measuring ranges which can be
selected by inserting a bridge between terminals 4 and 5 of the insert, see Figs 2.9. Full
instructions on selection of the insert are to be found in Publication E 07.80.06/1c.
