The higher level controller must support this function.
5.12 Emergency power operation
Function
The objective of the emergency power supply is to reasonably support emergency power operation using an
emergency power unit in the event of power failure. Thereby, the E*LDS components should help to prevent
unnecessary loads in order not to impair the emergency power operation.
Emergency power operation can be communicated to the case controllers via the CAN bus. If required, the
case controllers can block controller functions using the functions of emergency power operation. In this way,
the loading of the emergency power unit can be reduced.
Activation of emergency power operation
The participation in the emergency power operation can be specified individually for each case controller in the
installation.
The behaviour of the case controller in emergency power operation can be set using the following parameters
in menu 6-6:
Functionality of the compressor control - Parameter
Kt. Kühl. AUS
Functionality of the defrost timer - Parameter
Fkt. Abt. AUS
Functionality of the fans - Parameter
Fkt. Lüft. AUS
Functionality of the frame heater - Parameter
Fkt. Rhmhg AUS
Functionality of the light - Parameter
Fkt. Licht AUS
For example, if the case controller should switch off the compressors in the case of an emergency power
notification, the parameter
must be set to Y (Yes).
Fkt. Kühl. AUS
If this parameter is set to N (No), the case controller also continues cooling during the emergency power
operation.
In principle, all other parameters behave in the same way. You determine whether the defrost timer and/or the
fans are switched off during the emergency power operation. If the controller is already in a defrost process
when the emergency power operation occurs, this defrost is interrupted immediately. If the defrost request
does not arrive until during any pending emergency power operation, this defrost is completely suppressed.
