6.2. Removing Air from the Ink System
Transport, manipulations to the ink system, or other reasons may result in accumulation of air
within the print head. In consequence ink drops are not jetted from some or all nozzles..
In order to remove air from the print head, follow the instructions below:
a). Set the ink pressure to its rating value.
b). Turn the nozzle outlets towards a dish (which can be used to wash the head, for
example).
c). Press the rinse key
at the sloping part of the head housing. This will open all
electromagnets within the head to release air bubbles, which will flow out together with
the pressurised ink.
d). Continue the air removal process until regular and continuous ink jets start flowing out of
each nozzle.
Release the rinse key
.
6.3. Replacing the Ink Filter
In order to maintain the appropriate ink quality and purity, an ink filter is installed in the
system. The filter is placed in the suction tube inside the ink bottle and should be replaced
following the recommendations given in chapter
6.1 Routine Maintenance
.
