Mail
When You Receive Early
Warning “Area Mail”
<Receive Area Mail>
When the FOMA terminal is in a service area, the
Area Mail is automatically received.
z When you receive Area Mail, the “ ” icon
appears at the top of the screen.
z When you receive an Area Mail, the incoming call
lamp flashes in color 5 (red). The flashing pattern
follows the beep and ring tone.
z The FOMA terminal vibrates linked with the beeps
and the ring tone. However, the FOMA terminal
does not vibrate when the setting of “Mail” of
“Vibrator” is “OFF” in the case of the ring tone.
z When Manner mode is set, the beep and ring tone
are determined by “Manner mode setting (Select
manner mode)”. However, ring tone is determined
by the ring tone setting of a mail for the ring volume
and “beep” sound when following items are set
besides “Silent” or “OFF” in when you set
“Original”.
z When Manner mode is set, vibration for the ring
tone follows the settings in “Manner mode set”.
There is always vibration for the beep regardless of
the settings in “Manner mode set”.
z Received Area Mail is stored in Inbox.
z
You can store up to 100 Area Mails on the FOMA
terminal.

When you receive the Area Mail for the
earthquake early warning
When you receive the Area Mail, you are notified on
the description screen with beep and vibration.
The screen returns to the previous screen, when you
press any of

z You cannot change the volume of the beep (set at
“Level 6”). However, you can set the ring time for
the beep with Beep time in “Area Mail setting”.
● When you receive the Area Mail other
than the earthquake early warning
When you receive the Area Mail, you are notified on
the “Receive Area Mail” or the “Description Screen”,
then notifies them with a beep for the Area Mail (the
screen is specified by the provider).
The “Receive Area Mail” screen returns to the
previous screen, if no operation is performed or you
press any key. The description screen returns to the
previous screen, when you press any key

z The volume of the ring tone is set to the same
volume set at “Mail” of “Ring volume”.

z If the storage capacity for Area Mails is full when you
receive an Area Mail, Area Mails are deleted from the
old Area Mails in the trash box, oldest read Area Mails,
and unread Area Mails.

z If you leave the “Description screen” open, the set
alarm does not sound.
z The description screen or "Receive Area Mail" screen
may not appear when you receive the Area Mail in the
following situations.
• When the camera is activated

• Public mode (Driving mode) is set
• Viewing/recording 1Seg
• When the alarm is activated
• During streaming playback
• When accessing the microSD memory card
