5. Create a VMware datastore file system on the ME4 Series volume.
a) From the Actions menu, select
Datastore

New Datastore

b) Select
VMFS
as the type on New Datastore screen, then click
Next

c) Enter a name for the datastore, select
right volume/Lun
, and then click
Next
.
d) Select
VMFS6
as the VMFS version of datastore, then click
OK
.
e) Select a partition configuration, then click
Next
.
f) Click
Finish
.
Enable Multipathing on iSCSI volumes
Perform the following steps to enable Multipathing on iSCSI volumes:
1. Log in to the VMware vCenter Server, then click the ESXi host added.
2. On the Configure tab, select
Storage Devices
.
3. Perform a rescan of the storage devices.
4. Select the iSCSI disk (Dell EMC iSCSI disk) created in the
Register the host and create and map volumes
Properties
tab below the screen.
5. Scroll down to select the
Edit Multipathing
option, then select
Round Robin (VMware)
from the drop-down list.
6. Click
OK
.
7. Repeat steps 4–6 for all the volumes that are presented from the Dell EMC PowerVault ME4 Series storage system to the ESXi host.
