Format volumes on the Windows server
Perform the following steps to format a volume on a Windows server:
1. Open Server Manager.
2. Select
Tools
>
Computer Management
.
3. Right-click on
Disk Management
and select
Rescan Disks
.
4. Right-click on the new disk and select
Online
.
5. Right-click on the new disk again select
Initialize Disk
.
The
Initialize Disk
dialog box opens.
6. Select the partition style for the disk and click
OK
.
7. Right-click on the unallocated space, select the type of volume to create, and follow the steps in the wizard to create the volume.
