OMMANDS
The RIP commands in the Command Line Interface (CLI) are listed (along with the appropriate parameters) in the following
table.

config rip
Purpose
Used to configure RIP on the Switch.
Syntax
config rip [ipif <ipif_name 12> | all] {authentication [enable
<password 16> | disable] | tx_mode [disable | v1_only |
v1_compatible | v2_only] | rx_mode [v1_only | v2_only |
v1_or_v2 | disable] state [enable | disable]}
Description
This command is used to configure RIP on the Switch.
Parameters
<ipif_name 12>

The name of the IP interface.
all
– To configure all RIP receiving mode for all IP interfaces.
authentication [enable | disable]
−
Enables or disables
authentication for RIP on the Switch.
tx_mode
−
Determines how received RIP packets will be
interpreted – as RIP version
V1 only

V2 Only
,
or
V1 Compatible
(V1 and V2)
.
This entry specifies which version of the RIP
protocol will be used to transfer RIP packets. The disabled entry
prevents the reception of RIP packets.
rx_mode

Determines how received RIP packets will be
interpreted – as RIP version
V1 only, V2 Only

or
V1 or V2
.
This entry specifies which version of the RIP protocol will be
used to receive RIP packets. The Disabled entry prevents the
