config ssh user
Purpose
Used to configure the SSH user.
Syntax
config ssh user <username 15> authmode {hostbased
[hostname <string 32> | hostname_IP <string 32> <ipaddr>} |
password | publickey]
Description
This command allows you to configure the SSH user authentication
method.
Parameters
<username 15>
- Enter a username of no more than 15 characters
to identify the SSH user.
authmode
– Specifies the authentication mode of the SSH user
wishing to log on to the Switch. The administrator may choose
between:
Restrictions Only
administrator-level users can issue this command.
hostbased
– This parameter should be chosen if the user
wishes to use a remote SSH server for authentication purposes.
Choosing this parameter requires the user to input the following
information to identify the SSH user.
hostname <string 32>
- Enter an alphanumeric string of up
to 31 characters identifying the remote SSH user.
hostname_IP <string 32> <ipaddr>
- Enter the hostname
and the corresponding IP address of the SSH user.
password
– This parameter should be chosen if the user
wishes to use an administrator defined password for
authentication. Upon entry of this command, the Switch will
prompt the user for a password, and then to retype the
password for confirmation.
publickey
– This parameter should be chosen if the user
wishes to use the publickey on a SSH server for authentication.
Example usage:
To configure the SSH user:
