IP Interface Commands 

 

 

config ipif 

Purpose 

Used  to  configure  an  IP  interface  on  the 
switch. 

Syntax 

config ipif <ipif_name> {vlan 
<vlan_name>/ipaddress 
<network_address>/state 
[enabled/disabled]} 

Description 

This command is used to modify an existing 
IP interface on the switch. 

Parameters 

<ipif_name> 

−

  The  name  of  the  IP  interface 

to be configured on the switch.  

<vlan_name> 

−

  The  name  of  the  VLAN  that 

corresponds to the IP interface above. 

<network_address> 

−

  IP  address  and 

netmask  of  the  IP  interface  to  be  created.  
You  can  specify  the  address  and  mask 
information using the traditional format (for 
example,  10.1.2.3/255.0.0.0  or  in  CIDR 
format, 10.1.2.3/16). 

state  [enabled/disabled] 

−

  Allows  you  to 

enable or disable the IP interface. 

Restrictions 

Only  administrator-level  users  can  issue 
this command.
