2.2 Description of units
Toner pumping group
The pumping group is made up of a bellow pump, valve
body, toner bottle and gripping handle.
The operator manually docks the group in the
dispensing or storage rack.
Each group has a toner identification label at the front
and a barcode label on the back, that allows the system
to match the toner position in the dispensing rack, by
means of a barcode reader.
A product label is also placed in the storage rack docks:
this helps the operator to re-position the group after
dispensing in the defined storage position.
There are three sizes product bottles: 0.5, 1 and 2 litres. When no
bottle is screwed, you can distinguish the groups by the length of the
internal inlet air pipe.
For size reasons, the 2-liter pumping groups have pre-set positions in
the lower storage rack.
Dispensing rack
This is the rack where the operator
puts the Toner Pumping Groups
involved in formula dispensing.
The scale carriage central rest position
is called “free slot” position (see
picture).
Once the pumping groups are loaded
in the rack, the operator must lower a
special roll-bar provided until it locks.
The roll-bar can only be released if the
carriage is in the free slot position.
Carriage with valve group and weighing scale
The scale that weighs the dispensed amounts is
mounted on a group holding also the motors to drive
the dispensing pump and valves. By means of a motor-
driven carriage, the group is moved under the various
toners involved in the formula to be dispensed.
The dispensing zone is protected by a safety door
(movable guard), with safety microswitch (chapter
3.5). The machine does not execute any movements
if the door is open, the roll-bar is open or the off-line
button pressed.
A set of adapters (risers) are available, to facilitate
centering and positioning of the mixing cups as near to
the dispensing point as possible.
Peripheral devices
The peripheral devices, such as label printer and
spectrophotometer, can be connected and placed in
this area.
