Disconnecting/Switching-on an Emergency Lighting
System under Battery Supply
12.1
Disconnecting/Switching-on an Emergency Lighting System
under Battery Supply
Before re-connecting the battery sup-
ply at the connections of the battery
bank switch on the mains power
supply system and make sure that the
system is blocked (see 26). Following
this, you may switch on the battery
supply on the battery bank.
The above instructions apply analogously
in case that the mains supply and/or
battery supply of a EURO ZB.1 or EURO
US.1 control cabinet shall be disconnec-
ted or switched on.
Do not switch the mains power supp-
ly of a control cabinet (EURO ZB.1 or
EURO US.1) off or on under load (ie.
with the final circuits being switched
on).
Do not switch the battery supply of a
control cabinet (EURO ZB.1 or EURO
US.1) off or on under load (ie. with the
final circuits being switched on).
Before you disconnect or switch on
the mains and/or battery supply make
sure that the control system has been
blocked (see 12.3).
This is done via the menu item „Block/
Enable Unit“ in menu 26 „Blocking, Ack-
nowledgment“ of the control software.
Danger!
Turning the mains supply on or
off within the pertinent distributor
should never take place under
load (ie. when final circuits are
switched on)!
If the power supply to the general lighting
system or the mains supply of the emer-
gency lighting system fails or is switched
off the emergency lighting system control
will reverse to battery supply. In this
case a voltage of 216 V DC is applied, so
take care:
Danger!
Never disconnect or connect
lines under load to the battery
bank (battery cabinet or battery
rack)!
The same applies if the load-break switch
for battery supply in the control cabinet
(EURO ZB.1 / EURO US.1) is opened (or
closed) under load!
Before disconnecting the emergency
lighting system on the distributor of
the general mains supply and/or the
connections of the battery bank for
battery supply make sure to block the
plant as described in Section 12.3.
Following this, first disconnect the
battery supply and then disconnect
the mains supply.
Take safety measures to ensure that
plant remains disconnected as long
as you work on the system or until the
operationally safe state of the system
has been restored.
Attention!
In case several systems (EURO
ZB.1 with EURO US.1 substati-
ons) are supplied with power from
a battery bank all systems must
first be blocked!
Start with disconnecting the lo-
west level of the EURO US.1 sub-
stations before you disconnect
the EURO ZB.1 central battery
system!
