f) Modifying the Transmitter Stick Assignment
If you want to fly with the pre-set stick assignment "Mode 2" as described above, then you may skip this chapter.
However, if you wish to exchange the control of the pitch and nod function at the transmitter ("Mode 1"), you have
the possibility to carry out mechanical modifications on the transmitter. However, this requires some experience in
handling remote control sensors and a bit of skill.
Caution, important!
Before opening the transmitter, remove the batteries from the battery compartment.
Remove the four screws on the rear panel of the transmitter with a suitable screwdriver and lift off the rear panel
carefully. The cable connections between the main circuit board and the rear panel don't necessarily need to be
unplugged.
To better re-plug the connection cables of the stick potentiom-
eters, it is sensible to take the housing with the transmitter aerial
(1) out of the groove of the upper housing shell.
Important!
The transmitter aerial can remain connected. How-
ever, observe that you do not crush or bend the
aerial cable in the further mounting steps.
For the further procedure (see following description)
observe figure 16 on the next page.
Remove the four holding screws (S) at the right stick unit
(viewed from behind) and push the entire unit out of the housing
towards the back from the front. Then disconnect the connec-
tion cables of the stick potentiometers (3 and 4) from the slots
(3 and 4).
Remove the left stick unit (viewed from behind) in the same manner and unplug the connection cables of the stick
potentiometers (1 and 2) from the slots (1 and 2). Turn the stick unit removed on the left by 180° and install it again
on the right side (viewed from behind). The formerly right stick unit is also turned by 180° and then reinstalled on
the left. The connection cables of the potentiometers 1 - 4 then need to be connected again according to the lower
illustration in figure 16.
The upper illustration in figure 16 shows the transmitter in mode 2. The holding sheet for the pitch control stick (5) is
at the right stick unit (when viewed from behind). After conversion to mode 1, the stick unit with the holding sheet is
on the left side (viewed from behind).
After you have inspected the mechanical function of the two stick units and the correct connection of the potentiometer
connection lines, push the mode switch (6) from the bottom position "Mode 2" to the top position "Mode 1".
Push the housing with the transmitter aerial into the transmitter housing and attach the rear wall again. Turn the four
holding screws into the rear wall and tighten the holding screws carefully.
Caution, important!
For the transmitter to properly recognise the correct position of the control stick after conversion from
"Mode 2" to "Mode 1", you need to calibrate the control sticks (see the following chapter).
