Preparing the Server
To install options, upgrades or replacements in the following areas, you must
first shut down the server power.
Accessing Processors, Memory Board and
Sockets, and System and Peripheral Boards
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of electrical shock or
damage to the equipment, disconnect power from the
server by unplugging all power cords from either the
electrical outlet or the server.
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to
the equipment:

Do not disable the power cord grounding plug. The
grounding plug is an important safety feature.
■
Plug the power cord into a grounded (earthed) electrical
outlet that is easily accessible at all times.
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot
surfaces, allow the internal system components to cool before
touching.
WARNING:
Repair should be performed only by qualified
Service Providers who are trained in servicing computer
equipment and in dealing with products capable of producing
hazardous energy levels.
CAUTION:
Electrostatic discharge can damage electronic
components. Be sure you are properly grounded before beginning
any installation procedure.
