Removal and Replacement Procedures

Preparation Procedures

Before beginning any of the removal and replacement procedures for non-hot-plug devices:

1.

 

Turn off the server.

2.

 

Disconnect the AC power cord from the AC outlet, then from the server.

3.

 

Disconnect all external peripheral devices from the server.

4.

 

For some removal and replacement procedures, you must remove the server from
the rack and place it on a sturdy table or workbench. Refer to the ProLiant 1600 and
ProLiant 1200 Servers Setup and Installation Guide for instructions.
