To create an Ethernet user-network interface (UNI) ID, use the

ethernet uni

command in interface

configuration mode.To remove the UNI ID, use the

no

form of this command.

Syntax Description

Defaults

No UNI IDs are created.

Usage Guidelines

When you configure a UNI ID on a port, that ID is used as the default name for all maintenance end
points (MEPs) configured on the port.

You must enter the

ethernet uni id

name

command on all ports that are directly connected to

customer-edge (CE) devices. If the specified ID is not unique on the device, an error message appears.

Examples

This example shows how to identify a unique UNI:
