Chapter 2 Cisco ME 3800X and ME 3600X Switch Cisco IOS Commands

boot manual

To enable manually booting the switch during the next boot cycle, use the

boot manual

command in

global configuration mode. To return to the default setting, use the

form of this command.

boot manual

no boot manual

Syntax Description

This command has no arguments or keywords.

Defaults

Manual booting is disabled.

The next time you reboot the system, the switch is in boot loader mode, which is shown by the

switch:

prompt. To boot the system, use the

boot

boot loader command, and specify the name of the bootable

image.

This command changes the setting of the MANUAL_BOOT environment variable. For more
information, see

Appendix A, “Cisco ME 3800X and ME 3600X Switch Boot Loader Commands.”
