1. Remove the oil filter from the housing assembly.

2. Clean the oil side of the oil cooler and filter assembly with Engine Degreasing Solvent.

Technicians should follow laboratory practices to ensure the solvent thoroughly saturates the inside of the cooler.

3. Drain the solvent from the cooler assembly and air dry the oil cooler and filter housing assembly.

Technicians should follow laboratory practices to ensure the cooler is dry and not retaining any solvent. 
See Section 5 Sheet 6 for additional views.

68191356AA O‐Ring Kit, Oil Filter Adaptor  (Five O‐Rings)

Note: Labs have fabricated adaptor plates to circulate solvent through the oil cooler, however a lab decides
to clean a cooler, (even New Oil Coolers), care must be used to dry the cooler of all solvent and oil before
installing an oil cooler on a test engine.
