CMT 130 Book Trimmer 

RAP 2.34 Scrap Air Blast 

Output 30 

Four air jets are mounted on the face of the knife 
bar. The jets activate when the knife reaches the 
bottom of the stroke.  The air blast helps send 
the scrap from the trimming area down the chute 
and into the waste cart. 

Possible Fault Indicators 

 

Scrap is not being blown into waste cart 

Initial Actions 

Check for plugged jets, air leaks, and discon-
nected or pinched hoses. 

Check for loose or broken wire 72 at the power 
panel. 

Check that the wire connector for valve number 
9 is connected properly.  

Procedure 

1.  Check that main air is switched on and that 

shop air is fully functional at 80-90 PSI. 

2.  Manually activate valve number 9 by press-

ing the actuator button on the valve (Figure 
2-54).  Does the valve activate? 

Y  N 

Disconnect main power and replace valve 9 
(PL 5.21 Pneu. Manifold Asm. 59012-1). 

3.  Electrically activate valve 9 by shorting wire 

72 to 74 on the main PWB.  Does air blast 
off the knife bar? 

Y  N 

Disconnect main power and replace valve 
number 9 (PL 5.21 Pneu. Manifold Asm. 
59012-1). 

4.  Disconnect main power and replace the 

main PWB (REP 4.22 Main PWB Replace-
ment).
