CMT 130 Book Trimmer 

ADJ 4.15 Book Underside Air Lift 

The book underside air lift uses a blast of air to 
reduce scratching on the bottom cover as the 
books moves through the machine.  The amount 
of lift may require adjustment depending on the 
thickness of books being trimmed. 

Initial Actions 

Check that the air supply is switched on.  

Procedure 

1.  Switch on the power to the machine. 

2.  Select 

A)Sensor Data

 then select 

C)Outputs

. 

3.  Press 16 then press enter. This will manu-

ally actuate the air valve 7B and start the un-
derside air blast. 

4.  Locate the book underside air lift adjustment 

knob (Figure 4-26). 

5.  Locate the red locking ring and unlock it by 

pulling it toward you (away from the ma-
chine). 

6.  To increase the amount of lift, such as for 

thicker books, adjust the valve counter-
clockwise.  To decrease the amount of lift, 
such as for thinner books, adjust the valve 
clockwise.  It may be helpful to place a book 
on top of the lower gripper block. 

7.  When finished adjusting, push the locking 

ring back in to lock it in place 

8.  Switch off the machine to exit out of Sensor 

Data
