4. Repair/Adjustment Procedures

 

ADJ 4.10 Conveyor Belt Adjustment 

A conveyor belt must be adjusted after replace-
ment or removal.  It may also require occasional 
adjustment due to wear or stretch.  All CMT 130 
conveyor belts are adjusted by the same 
method. 

Initial Actions 

All covers must be installed, and all doors must 
be closed.  Power is on, and the machine is op-
erational. 

Procedure 

1.  Switch on the power to the machine and 

press the green start button to initialize. 

2.  Select 

A)Maint.

 then select 

Service

. 

3.  Enter the service code: 

2.001

 and press 

enter. 

4.  Select 

Shipping Position

 and press en-

ter.  The belts should begin running. 

5.  Turn the belt tensioning screws until the 

conveyor belt is tensioned to meet the fol-
lowing conditions: 

 

Internal In-feed Conveyor:  The belt can-
not be stopped by applying approxi-
mately 

10 pounds

 of pressure to the top 

surface of the belt. 

 

Internal Out-feed Conveyor:  Adjust this 
belt so that the gap between the belt 
and the belt guard or exit ramp is as 
small as possible without the belt touch-
ing the guard or exit ramp (Figure 4-22).  
Failure to do this could result in a pinch 
hazard. 

 

In-feed Conveyor:  The belt cannot be 
stopped by applying approximately 

10 

pounds

 of pressure to the top surface 

of the belt. 

 

Exit Conveyor:  The belt cannot be 
stopped by applying approximately 

40 

pounds

 of pressure to the top surface 

of the belt. 

 

Hand-Feed Conveyor:  The belt cannot 
be stopped by applying approximately 

20 pounds

 of pressure to the top sur-

face of the belt. 

6.  Adjust belt tracking by slightly tensioning the 

side of the pulley that the belt moves toward 
and slightly loosening the pulley from which 
the belt moves away. 

7.  Observe the belts for several minutes to 

make sure they are tracking properly.  Re-
adjust as necessary. 

8.  Press the red button to stop the machine. 

9.  Press Enter then
