CMT 130 Book Trimmer 

RAP 2.13 Interlock Test 

The interlock switches used in the CMT130 each 
contain a plunger that is pressed by a door’s 
hinge rod whenever a door is opened.  When 
the plunger is pressed, the interlock circuit be-
comes open and all motion stops. 

Initial Actions 

Disconnect main power and remove the top 
cover in order to access the switches without 
opening the doors, see Figure 2-14. 

Procedure 

1.  Leave the door closed for the switch you are 

checking and examine the switch to make 
sure the plunger is not at all depressed. 

2. 

Check for continuity across the switch’s ter-
minals, see Figure 2-15.  There be should 
continuity whenever the plunger is not de-
pressed.   

3.  Actuate the plunger by using a small screw-

driver and then test continuity again.  The 
terminals should NOT have continuity while 
the plunger is depressed. 

4.  The switch is defective if it does not meet 

the continuity requirements above. 

5.  Repeat the above procedure for all three 

switches. 

6.  Reinstall the top cover.
