CMT 130 Book Trimmer 

RAP 2.11 Door Interlocks 

Input 9 

Door interlocks switches are located on each of 
the machine’s doors: front, side, and rear, Figure 
2-12. 

Possible Fault Indicators 

 

Lower Door Open

 message is dis-

played while all lower doors are closed 

 

Upper Door Open

 message is dis-

played while all upper doors are closed 

 

Door open indicator LED lights on con-
sole, but no door is open. 

 

A door is open, but the machine contin-
ues to operate. 

 

A door is open, but the LED indicator 
does not light.  Check connections to 
the indicator PWB, and replace if neces-
sary. 

Initial Actions 

Check that all three doors are securely closed.  
Check and repair loose wire 113 at the power 
panel.  Check and repair loose wires on all 3 
door interlock switches because they are wired 
in series. 

Procedure (does not operate with doors 
closed) 

1.  Does the Door Open Indicator display a door 

open? 

Y  N 

Cycle power, press A to enter sensor data 
mode.  Open each door.  Is a tone is heard 
with each opening? 

Y  N 

Disconnect main power and replace the 
main PWB (REP 4.22 Main PWB Re-
placement). 

Disconnect main power and replace the 
Door Open Indicator PWB 

2.  Adjust the position of the indicated switch 

such that the plunger is pressed in as the 
door opens, but not when the door is closed.  

3.  Perform RAP 2.13 Interlock Test 

Procedure (operates with a door open) 

1.  Check each interlock switch to make sure 

that the plunger is pressed in as the door 
opens, but not when the door is closed.  Ad-
just switch if necessary then perform RAP 
2.13 Interlock Test.  Does this solve the 
problem? 

Y  N 

Replace the defective interlock switch.
