4. Repair/Adjustment Procedures

 

REP 4.22 Main PWB Replacement 

The following procedure outlines the steps nec-
essary to replace the main PWB.  EEPROMs on 
the main PWB store machine-specific data such 
as calibration data, jobs, and machine settings.  
If the main PWB is replaced, this data must be 
re-programmed. 

CAUTION 

Observe standard ESD protection procedures 
while replacing any PWB's.  Damage may result 
due to static discharge. 

Procedure 

1.  Switch on the power to the machine and 

press the green start button to initialize. 

2.  Select 

A)Maint.

 then select 

Service

. 

3.  Enter the service code: 2.001 and press en-

ter. 

4.  Select 

Accuracy Adj.

 and press enter.   

5.  Write down the calibration values displayed 

on the screen.  Switch off the machine. 

WARNING 

Disconnect and lockout power as described 
in the Power Lockout Procedure on page viii. 

6.  Remove the power panel door (PL 5.12 

Main Assembly 59000 (12/12)). 

7.  Remove the two nuts that mount the high 

voltage cover to standoffs on the power 
panel. 

8.  Use a small screwdriver to gently pry the 

PROM from its socket (GP 6.7 Software Up-
grade/Replacement).  Pry by a small 
amount, each end in turn. 

9.  Disconnect all cable connectors from the 

main PWB. 

10.  Remove six nuts that mount the PWB to 

standoffs on the power panel. 

11.  Replace the PWB and pack the faulty board 

in the electro-static bag that held the new 
board. 

12.  Reinstall all six nuts that mount the board to 

the power panel. 

13.  Securely connect all cables to the new 

PWB. 

14.  Reinstall the PROM (GP 6.7 Software Up-

grade/Replacement). 

15.  Reinstall the high voltage cover. 

16.  Reinstall the power panel door. 

17.  Initialize the computer, reset accuracy, hy-

draulic cushion, and jog pressure (see GP 
6.8 Software Re-Initialization). 

18.  Measure a test book for accuracy using cali-

pers if available.  Does the test book meas-
ure to the cut dimensions set on the on the 
machine.
