SHOOTING A SNAPSHOT
Selecting the Face Detection Method (Priority)
Use the follo w ing proced u re to specify w hether yo u w ant to gi v e
priority to faster speed or a higher n u m b er of faces d u ring face
detection.
1.
Enter a REC mode.
2.
Press [
S
] ( ) once.
3.
Use [
W
] and [
X
] to select “ Priority” and
then press [SET].
4.
Use [
S
] and [
T
] to select the setting you want,
and then press [SET].
NOTE
•
Selecting “Q u antity” w hile u sing the Normal mode w ill
make it possi b le to detected smaller faces at a greater
distance than w hen “Speed” is selected.
Face Recognition Precautions
•
The maxim u m n u m b er of faces that can b e detected at one
time is fi v e w hen “Speed” is selected for the “Priority” setting,
and ten w hen “Q u antity” is selected.
•
Detection of the follo w ing types of faces is not s u pported.
– A face that is partially o b str u cted b y hair, s u nglasses, a hat,
etc
– A face that is shaded from the light
– A profile of a face that is not shot straight on
– A face that is tilted left or right
– A face that is v ery far a w ay or v ery small
– A face that is v ery close or v ery large
– A face in an area that is v ery dark
•
Face detection is not s u pported for animals or other non-
h u man s ub jects.
•
E v en if yo u ha v e the face of a family mem b er recorded, the
person’s facial expression, shooting conditions, or other
factors can make proper recognition (highest priority
assignment) impossi b le.
•
Face recognition can b e impro v ed b y recording m u ltiple
v ersions of the same person’s face indoors and o u tdoors, w ith
different expressions, and at different angles.
