Troubleshoot

ng

General Problems

The machine has no power.

Is the power cord plugged in securely?

Check that the power cord s securely plugged nto the machne and nto the
wall outlet. If the machne s plugged nto a power strp, make sure the power
strp s plugged n and turned on.

Is the power cord supplying power?

Use a dfferent power cord, or test the cord for contnuty usng a voltmeter.

Is the main power switch turned on?

Turn on the man power swtch.

The Error indicator flashes.

Does the machine feed paper correctly, or is there paper in the paper
cassette or multi-purpose tray?

Clear the paper jam, or load paper n the paper cassette or mult-purpose tray.
(For nstructons on clearng paper jam, See “Clearng Jams,” on p. 11-2. For
nstructons on loadng paper, see “Set Up the Machne,” n the Starter Gude.)

If the machne has no paper jam, or paper s loaded n the paper cassette or
mult-purpose tray, turn off the man power swtch and wat for more than 10
seconds, then turn t on agan. If the problem s fxed, the Error ndcator wll turn
off, and the LCD wll return to the standby mode. If the Alarm ndcator remans
flashng, unplug the machne, and unplug the machne, and contact your local
authorzed Canon dealer.

Nothing appears in the LCD.
