Cause 13
Is the receiving fax machine a G3 fax machine?
Remedy
Make sure the receiving fax machine is compatible with your machine (which is
a G3 fax machine).
Cause 14
The recipient’s telephone may be busy or their fax machine may be turned off.
Print an Error TX report and check to see if BUSY/NO SIGNAL is shown on the
report.
Remedy 1 The fax/telephone number that you dialed is busy. Try sending the document
later.
Remedy 2 The recipient’s fax machine is not working. Contact the recipient and have them
check their fax machine.
Cause 15
Did the receiving fax machine answer within 55 seconds (after all automatic
redialing attempts)?
Remedy
If the receiving machine does not answer within 55 seconds, the transmission is
canceled. Contact the recipient and have them check their fax machine. For an
overseas call, add pauses to the registered number. (See “Pause Time,” on
p. 6-14.)
The memory is full when you try to send.
Cause 1
Are you sending with the image quality set to <FINE>, <PHOTO>, <SUPER
FINE>, or <ULTRA FINE>?
Remedy 1 If your document does not contain fine text or photographs, set the image
quality to <STANDARD>.
Remedy 2 If your document contains fine text or photographs and you need to use a finer
image quality, send the document directly rather than using memory sending.
Cause 2
Are there documents stored in memory?
Remedy
Print or erase the documents stored in memory or wait until the documents
stored in memory for sending have been sent, then resend your document.
