Is the original placed correctly?
Remedy
Remove the original, align the edges if necessary, and place it on the platen
glass or into the feeder correctly. (See “Placing Originals,” on p. 1-34.)
Cause 7
Is the one-touch speed dialing key or coded speed dialing code you registered
for the feature you want to use?
Remedy
Check the one-touch speed dialing key or coded speed dialing code and make
sure that it is registered correctly. (See Chapter 3, “Speed Dialing.”)
Cause 8
Did you dial the correct fax/telephone number?
Remedy
Try dialing the number again. If the number is registered for one-touch or coded
speed dialing, check that the number is correct.
Cause 9
Is the machine in the Energy Saver mode?
Remedy
The machine cannot scan documents if it is in the Energy Saver mode. To
restore the machine from the Energy Saver mode, press
(ON/OFF) on the
control panel.
Cause 10
Is the recipient’s fax machine out of paper?
Remedy
Contact the recipient to check whether their fax machine is out of paper.
Cause 11
Did an error occur during sending?
Remedy
Print an Activity Report and check for an error. (See “Printing the Activity
Report,” on p. 5-6.)
Cause 12
Is the telephone line working properly?
Remedy
Make sure there is a dial tone when you press [Hook]. If there is no dial tone,
contact your local telephone company.
