Traveling abroad with the printer
Here are some points to remember while traveling:
The Universal AC Adapter can be used abroad to power the printer in countries where AC 100 to 240V is
used abroad to power the printer in countries where you intend to travel. For details, call for service.
Fill out the CIWS Card (Canon International Warranty System) with the date of purchase and the name of
the location where you purchased the printer. Carry this warranty card with you when you travel, so you can
request repairs or service for the printer at your destination. For details, refer to the CIWS card.
X-ray or any other type of baggage inspection device will have no effect on this printer.
Universal AC Adapter AD-370U
The AC adapter is intended for use with this printer only; never attempt to use the AC adapter with appliances
or equipment as a power/voltage converter in another country. The power supply cord provided with purchase
is for use in the country where you purchased the printer. For other countries, you may need a power cord
rated for use with the local power supply. For details, call for service.
Important
The AC adapter is rated for AC 100V to 240V. In locations where power supply is
available within this range, an input-voltage converter, switching device, etc. is not
required.
When the printer is not in use, switch it off and unplug the power cord from the
power outlet.
Never attempt to disassemble or repair the AC adapter.
If the AC adapter is accidentally damaged, call for service.
To avoid the dual hazards of fire and electrical shock, never connect the printer to a
power outlet where other appliances or equipment are connected.
To avoid fire or electrical shock, never place heavy objects on the power cord,
never cut the power cord, never pull on the power cord to unplug it from the power
outlet, never wrap the power cord around itself or another object.
If the printer emits strange noises, odours, or smoke, press the power button to
switch the printer off then immediately unplug the power cord from the power outlet.
Discontinue using the printer and call for service.
To avoid fire or electrical shock caused by a damaged power cord, never pull on the
power cord to unplug it. When unplugging the power cord, always grasp the plug.
To avoid a dangerous electrical shock, never handle the power cord, plug, or AC
adapter connector when your hands are wet.
