8.3.2 FTP photo collection from camera memory
If the camera is set up to store photos to the camera memory, it may be necessary to collect all
the photos from the camera memory. The web interface provides a user-friendly method of
viewing and saving select files from the camera memory through the File Explorer (
(p. 73)). However, if you desire to collect a large number of files from an entire folder, using the
web interface is cumbersome.
Campbell Scientific recommends accessing the CCFC memory using the FTP file transfer process.
For most Windows computers, type the IP address assigned to the camera by the network. For
example, type ftp://1.2.3.4:21 into a supported web browser, where ‘1.2.3.4’ is the IP address of
the camera and ‘:21’ is the port used for FTP access. The camera supports FTP access to the
camera memory on port 21 of the camera. This requires a network connection.
Select a directory, such as TimedCapture1, to begin the navigation into that directory. Whole
directories or files can be saved.
NOTE:
Files cannot be deleted this way.

Alternatively, an FTP client, such as FileZilla (
https://filezilla-project.org/
), can be used to
download multiple files at once.
Campbell Scientific recommends setting the timeout in FileZilla to 0 (unlimited).
