Serial and LAN Interfaces

Figure 1-7 Frame Relay Module with I/O Boxes and Cabling

As shown in the figure, each 60-pin serial connector on the FRM supports up to four
I/O ports, all of the same interface type. A cable carries each connector’s signals to an
I/O box assembly. The I/O box acts as a "splitter" that carries signals to four 25-pin
connectors. The "final" physical interface depends on the combination of the type of
60-pin serial port and the I/O cable exiting the I/O box.
