4.1 Operating the Inverter Charger Combi
The main switch of the unit needs to be supplied externally and
connected to the remote switch input (see installation guide). This
switch is recommended to combine with a switched output of the
vehicle board control which also turns on when then 12V main switch
in the RV is On.
Only then the inverter can be operated with its Remote Control.
4.1.1 Operation with shore power – 230V AC input available
The Inverter Charger Combi always turns on automatically – indepen-
dently of the remote switch position – when grid or a generator is
connected to the AC input. The Inverter Charger Combi will analyse
this signal. If the voltage and frequency of this signal are both within
the required limits, the Inverter Charger Combi will synchronize to the
input signal and activates the AC transfer switch automatically.
Connected 230V loads are powered from the AC input source and the
Inverter Charger Combi will also start charging the battery.
The AC input current limiter switch included in the frontpanel allows
limitation of the unit to the available grid power of either 3A, 6A or
max. 10A. In all settings the AC Input power boost is active and will
supply missing power up to the max. power available from the inver-
ter, if the connected loads exceed the available AC input power.
Optional “Night mode” when grid is available and the charger is active:
With remote control the charger can be operated in night mode. This
means that the maximum charge power will be reduced by 50 % and
the fans are disabled and therefore noise reduced to a minimum.
As soon as the voltage or the frequency of the AC input signal are
exceeding the required limits (for example when the AC input signal
disappears), the Inverter Charger Combi will immediately stop
charging and power-off entirely.
4.1.2 No shore power – 230V AC input not available
For using the inverter the unit must be connected to the service
battery and a remote switch connected to the remote switch screw
terminal of the unit. (see also Installation manual)
The inverter only then can be switched On with the Remote control in
2 diff erent modes, “Automatic”- or “Permanent”-mode. The Inverter
Charger Combi will perform all tasks automatically. It will power up in
inverter mode and supply power to the connected load.
Automatic mode:
The inverter is analysing the load on the output and will work
continuously if the output loads are bigger than 25W. Automatic mode
is visually indicated with a blinking inverter LED. Only if the load is
<25W for 10 min., the inverter will switch-off in standby.
Permanent mode:
The inverter will operate independent of the load. This mode is there-
fore recommended for small loads.
When the Remote Control is switched to Off , the Inverter Charger
Combi stays in standby-mode and can be reactivated by the Remote
Control.
When the 12V main switch is deactivated in the RV / your application,
e.g. the remote switch needs to switch off . The Inverter Charger Combi
then will power-off and draw no standby current from the battery.
Information about the LED indicators on the frontpanel and the
diff erent error mode codes, can be found in the next chapter.

The frontpanel can be divided into four sections:
1. Power indicator:
This level bar has a dual function. Indicates the percentage of
delivered output power in inverter mode (turns red if more than
nominal output power is being delivered to the load). In charger
mode, this level bar indicates the percentage of delivered charging
current.
