ETH port

The ETH connector is primarily used to connect the spec-
trometer to a computer on which the application software
(e.g. OPUS) is installed.
The spectrometer can be connected either to a 100Base-
T intranet or directly to the computer using a cross-over
cable (stand-alone configuration). This is a standard cable
in which the TX and RX lines are cross-linked.
The standard spectrometer is pre-configured by Bruker
for stand-alone operation. The IP address is labeled on
the mobile electronics unit front side. The ETH port is
designed for RJ-45 plugs and complies with the 100Base-
T standard. Use a CAT-5 SFTP cable for the connection
and make sure that the cable length does not exceed 100
meters.
Alternatively, a gateway can be used to connect the spec-
trometer to the internet. In this case the spectrometer
must have a unique IP address. For details on how to
assign IP addresses, refer to chapter 9.3.
