HAT
IS
bcadm?
The bcadm program is a command line tool for managing the BC4000 Series RAID controllers on both Linux
and Windows operating systems. The bcadm program initiates RAID operations such as creating and
transforming arrays, deleting arrays, adding and removing disks, and splitting mirrored arrays. It also provides
information on drive and array states, and, in
--follow
mode, logs events and notifies the administrator of any
changes in disk or array status.
The bcadm
program has eight primary modes, with most primary modes having additional optional arguments.
The eight modes of operation are:
Follow these instructions to issue the command on your operating system:
To use bcadm on Linux:
By default, bcadm is installed in /bin.
To use bcadm on Windows:

Change directory to
%Program Files%\RAIDCore\noproc
and run the
bcadm.exe
command from there.
Or
•
Add
%Program Files%\RAIDCore\noproc
to your system or user path environment variables.
Manage
Uses the
bcadm --manage
command to manage and query
controllers, arrays, and disks.
Create
Uses the
bcadm --create
command to create a new array.
Delete
Uses the
bcadm --delete
command to delete arrays.
Transform
Uses the
bcadm --transform
command to transform an array.
Create Copy
Uses the
bcadm --create-copy
command to create a copy of an
existing array.
Split
Uses the
bcadm --split
command to split a mirrored array.
Follow
Uses the
bcadm --follow
command to follow or
monitor arrays and disks.
License
Uses the
bcadm --license
command to view or change the license
level.
