Working with Arrays
Document
BC4000-UM100-R
The progress of the copy will remain at 100% until the arrays are unlinked. The task may appear to be hung,
but it is not. While the task says 100%, the arrays are still linked, so copying may occur as the source array
changes.
a. Once the copy is complete, the destination array comes back linked to the source array and hidden. There
are three possible ways to unlink the two arrays:
b. If you selected the
Unlink on copy finished
option, the destination array is automatically unlinked when
the copy is complete. You must then unhide the destination array using the
Un-Hide
command to access
the data.
c. If you did not select the
Unlink on copy finished
option, you can reboot and the two arrays will be
unlinked. You must then unhide the destination array using the
Un-Hide
command to access the data.
When you use this method, all active data is flushed to the copy before the unlink, ensuring that you have
captured all the data from the file system or applications currently running.
d. If you did not select the
Unlink on copy finished
option and have not rebooted, you can “manually” unlink
the source and destination arrays by using the
Unlink
command, described below. You must then unhide
the destination array using the
Un-Hide
command to access the data.
•
If you need to interrupt or stop the create copy operation, use the task control feature described in
“Interrupting or Cancelling a Task” on page 93.
Caution!
If the arrays are unlinked, then data that the user expects to be written to both arrays may
not be written.
