Filling procedure
When you fill the pump:
•
Use the best fluid for your application.
•
When you first receive the pump, its internal surfaces will be coated with a thin film of Santovac 5
fluid. This fluid is used to test the pump before dispatch. You must clean the pump before you fill
it with a fluid other than Santovac 5.
•
You can refill the pump with the fluid which you last used in the pump. If you want to use a different
fluid, you must clean the pump thoroughly before you refill the pump.
Use the following procedure to fill the pump with fluid:
1.
Check that the fluid drain-plug is tightened securely.
2.
Pour the required amount of fluid (see Section 2.4) into a clean container.
3.
Use a funnel to fill the pump with fluid through the backing spout. Alternatively, pour the fluid
charge in through the pump-inlet, through the baffle and down the inner wall of the pump; take care
not to pour fluid onto the top-cap.
4.
Allow the fluid to fully drain into the boiler before you operate the pump.

WARNING
Ensure that the fluid-charge in the pump is correct. If there is insufficient fluid in the pump,
the pump may overheat during operation and be damaged, and the pump fluid may
undergo thermal breakdown.
