TRACTION DRIVE TRACK
ASSEMBLY (PF-510 ONLY)
This task will cover shop repair of the drive track and
field repair of the drive track. The procedures are
slightly different.

WARNING
!
It is desirable to have the machine operational
during track replacement. Since the battery is
NOT disconnected, you MUST tag the controls
to prevent accidental start-up.
REMOVAL – SHOP REPAIR
Step 1:
Raise machine.
NOTE
Track may be separated and removed from
front or back of machine depending on orienta-
tion and shop space.
a. Jack machine to remove weight from track.
b. Block machine securely in position.
Step 2:
Remove track tension.
a. Take tension off of track to be replaced or
repaired by disconnecting the hydraulic line
leading to the track tension cylinder.
b. Disconnect the hose from the fitting (1) at the
hydraulic tube mounting bracket (2).
c. Cap and plug all fittings and hoses to prevent
fluid loss and contamination.

Step 3:
Locate band joint (one can be found every 32" (81
cm) or 8 pads in a section of track) at bottom of
track, just in front of drive sprocket (if removing
from the rear) or just behind front take-up wheel (if
removing from the front).
Step 4:
Disconnect band joint.
a. Remove pad nuts (1) from inside and outside.
b. Remove guides (2) from inside and outside.
c. Pry inside and outside track bands (3) from the
track shoe (4).

Step 5:
Remove track.
a. Attach chain (1) to track.
b. Pull vehicle operator must coordinate efforts
with those of the machine operator. Machine
operator must creep (forward if removing from
rear or reverse if removing from the front). Pull
track completely out from under machine only if
required.
