DRIVE WHEEL SPINDLE AND
HUB ASSEMBLY

This task is for all machines except the PF-510.

REMOVAL

Step 1:
Remove wheel hub.

a. Remove lock nut (1).
b. Remove lock washer (2).
c. Remove inner lock nut (3).
d. Remove retaining washer (4).
e. Remove hub from spindle.

Step 2:
Remove two bolts (5) that attach chain tensioner (6)
to spindle.

Step 3:
Remove spindle (7).

a. Secure lifting device to spindle shaft. Sling

housing and take up slack.

b. Remove four bolts (8) that secure spindle to

machine frame.

c. Lower spindle to floor.

DISASSEMBLY

Step 1:
Disassemble hub assembly.

a. Remove bearing cones.
b. Pull bearing cups.

INSPECTION

Step 1:
Inspect bearings for wear and damage.

Step 2:
Inspect wheel studs and lug nuts for damage.

Step 3:
Inspect spindle weldment for cracks and damage.

Step 4:
Replace damaged or highly worn items.

ASSEMBLY

Step 1:
Assemble hub assembly.

a. Press bearing cups.
b. Install bearing cones.

IMPORTANT

Make sure bearings are oriented properly.
