Step 2:
Remove pinion subassembly (2).
a. Remove pinion housing bolts.
b. Remove pinion subassembly.

Step 3:
Remove ring gear subassembly.
a. Remove bolts (1 and 2) securing inside and
outside bearing caps (3 and 4).
b. Remove inside and outside bearing caps.
Remove and tag shim packs
(5 and 6).
c. Remove inside and outside bearing cones (7
and 8).
d. Remove ring gear subassembly (9).

Step 4:
Remove intermediate gear.
a. Remove cap screws (1) and retainer plate (2).
b. Remove bearing cup (3).
c. Remove idler pin (4).
d. Remove gear assembly (5).
e. Remove bearing cone (6) and spacer (7).
f. Remove bearing cone (8), cup (9), and retaining
ring (10).
g. Remove O-rings (11 and 12) from idler pin (4).

Step 5:
Remove drive sprocket (Use special internal keyed
spanner wrench to remove nut).
a. Loosen lock nut set screws if present
(Before S/N 51004-01 only).
b. Remove lock nut (1).
c. Remove nut and washer (2) & (3).
d. Remove sprocket (4).
