6.1 Switching Counter
6.1.1 Description
The feature Switching Counter provides the possibility to
count edges on boolean signals. For example it can be
used to count object detections.
The feature can be configured in two different counting
modes: Static and Auto Mode .
The input signal can be configured individually by selecting
the desired PD Object.
6.1.2 Mathematics/Algorithm
Switching Counter – Static Mode
On every rising edge of the input signal, the counter value
is increased (see Fig. 6-1).
If the counter value is less than the configured counter
limit, the counter state flag
not reached
is set. As soon as
the count value is greater than or equal to the configured
counter limit, the counter state flag reached is set. If the
count value is greater than the configured counter limit, the
counter state flag exceeded is set.
The count value can be reset at any time by a system
command (count value = zero).
