INSTALLING QNX
The OIS12 requires a real-time operating system so that more
than one task can be performed at the same time. This sub-
section covers installation of QNX, the operating system used.
A specific version of QNX is supplied with your program disks.
If you are currently running an older version, you will need to
back up your configuration. The QNX install program initial-
izes the section of your hard drive used by the QNX operating
system. Unless you change the partition sizes, any DOS parti-
tion will remain untouched.
You can upgrade your OIS12 system one computer at a time.
The entire system does not need to be shut down in order to
upgrade. However, each computer being upgraded will need to
be shut down just before it is installed. See
INSTALLING OIS12 SOFTWARE (SOFTWARE RELEASE 5.1A
or 5.2)
subsection.
INSTALLING QNX FOR OIS12 (SOFTWARE RELEASE 5.1A or 5.2)
This Section describes the installation of the QNX Operating
System, version 4.22 or later. Before proceeding with the
installation, check that the version number on your set of QNX
disks is 4.22 or later.

NOTES:
1. You must specifically select either UTP (10BaseT, using RJ-45 connectors) or BNC (10Base2).
2. Although the Boot ROM is disabled, do not use address D000h. We have found the Boot ROM if installed on the cards will sometimes
interfere with the CTI card even though the Boot ROM is disabled. Alternative ROM addresses available are C800h or D400h.
3. Alternative I/O Base addresses available are 320 and 360. Before using address 360, check that the parallel port is not assigned to address 378.
4. Alternative Interrupt is 5.
