11.3 Leakage Detection
Before opening the
Multimeter
application, ensure the multimeter device (DM100, Digital
Multimeter 100) is connected to the tester via the multimeter cable. The device will beep when
entering the application after properly connected with the tester.
Some current will flow through the protective ground conductor to ground in an electrical
installation. This is often called leakage current. Leakage current may cause unnecessary and
intermittent tripping of circuits protected by ground fault current interrupters. High levels of
leakage current may be present in circuits where electronic equipment with filters is used, and
can cause voltages that disrupt normal operation of equipment. In order to eliminate or
minimize the effects of leakage current, a current clamp meter can be used.
Under Leakage detection, two models are available: Current model and Multimeter model.
11.3.1 Current Model
The Current model can detect leakage current
on a whole battery. Check the vehicle
manufacturer manual for the static current parameter so as to verify leakage current.
Please follow the step-by-step instructions on the screen to complete the test.

11.3.2 Multimeter Model
The Multimeter model can detect leakage current on a specific fuse. Select the
corresponding fuse type and color to initiate the test.
