Handling of Electrical Components
1. When inspecting the electrical wirings or
wiring connections, be sure to stop the
engine, remove the ignition key, and unplug
the (-) battery cable. Otherwise, sparks may
cause an electric shock or unexpected accident.
2. When handling the battery, do not short-
circuit the cables or otherwise cause sparks to
generate,and do not smoke a cigarette or bring
any other fi re source closer. Charge the
battery in a well-ventilated place with the
water re
fi lling cap on the battery removed.
Failure to do so may cause the battery to
ignite and explode, which create a very
dangerous situation.
3. The battery fl uid (electrolyte) is diluted with-
sulfuric acid. As it is a deleterious substance,
keep the battery
fl uid away from your body or
clothes. If the battery fl uid enters your eye or
contacts your skin, loss of eyesight or burning
may result. Should the battery
fl uid contact
skin, wash the affected area with an ample
amount of water. If it enters your eye, wash
the eye with water and undergo medical check.
4. Charge an appropriate amount of battery
fl uid. If the battery is used (charged)
continuously with the fl uid level remaining
below the lower limit,various parts of the
vessel will deteriorate quickly and the
battery may die prematurely or burst
(explode), which create a very dangerous
situation.
